Very good condition. Most likely it has never been framed.
The signature suggests this was the work of an American (or British) artist but is similar to work by Parisian “street painters” commonly sold in the American art market in the 1950s. The artist was represented by the previous owner to have been a woman who was widely traveled and the scene was described as a European city. It is a large oil created with brush and palette knife. Given the size, this painting might best be enjoyed with a simple, narrow molding.
It should be said that the same subjects and styles of “street art” have been painted in many cities. New Orleans is a good example in the United States.
Another work by M. Bradley (identical signature) was listed for $750 and sold by a Pennsylvania gallery. (See first image below.) That painting was 30.5″ x 42.5″, plain wood frame with a linen insert. Probably the same canvas size as the painting listed here. The second image below is by the same hand.
