Excellent. Newly matted using archival materials.

Painter in oil and water-colour of marines and architectural subjects. Born in London on 1st April 1862. Studied art at South Kensington, also in Cologne, Dusseldorf, Antwerp and Paris. Exhibited at the leading London galleries from 1881, mainly at the R.A., R.B.A. Principal works include Launch of a BattleshipLeaving the Thames and The Britannia. Lived at Amberley in Sussex. – from the Dictionary of British Artists Working 1900-1950 by Grant M. Waters.
