Colleen Newport Stevens received a BFA degree from Eastern Washington State University and furthered her education in Guadalajara, Mexico, studying art history and cross-cultural art. She has studied with Tony Van Hassel, Jason Williamson, Tony Couch, and Dick Phillips.
Stevens exhibited in over 30 national and international exhibitions and was honored by a number of successful one-woman shows throughout the United States. She was a member of the Tennessee Watercolor Society, Memphis Germantown Art League and the Rivercity Citique Group.
The work of Colleen Newport Stevens is in numerous corporate, public and private collections. Two of her watercolors were sold in 1996 by Sotheby’s in London.
This painting was purchased from the artist in 1998.
